Who am I?A third year Phd student at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I study under the guidance of Dr. Miquel Gonzalez-Meler in his Stable Isotope Lab, and mainly focus on researching the influence of warming temperatures on carbon cycle dynamics in the Arctic and the feedbacks on the global climate system. I also have an explorative interest in microplastics found in Alaskan soils and the influences they may have on the physical, chemical, and ecological characteristics. I am currently working to understand how soil organic carbon (SOC) is accumulating under the influence of various winter precipitation treatments and record the response of sifts in the chemical composition of the SOC as a result of tundra shubification. |

My End Goal
"I want to cause change."
"My goal is to gain enough knowledge to contribute to solutions that help curb global warming, reduce toxic emissions, and lessen our carbon footprint. I also strongly believe there is a need for advocacy and continuous resistance for communities strongly impacted by climate change, especially those faced with environmental racism here in my home town Chicago. I want to continue investigating the complexities of our complex society and Arctic environments and help advise policymakers on how best to mitigate climate change and bring justice to those disproportionally impacted."
